Why Old Palace?

First and foremost, Old Palace of John Whitgift is a place of learning. For each girl who comes here, Old Palace will also be a key contributor in her development as a compassionate and capable individual, prepared to address the challenges presented to her as she makes her contribution to society.

Every student enjoys a first class academic education at Old Palace. We also promote a broader values-based education embracing what are known at Old Palace as The Four Pillars:

Service

Skills & Knowledge

Courage

Emotional Intelligence

With this approach, students learn about who they are and what they stand for.

The School is split over two sites;
The Pre-School & Preparatory are located in leafy Melville Avenue  (just five minutes walk from Lloyd Park) whilst the Seniors are based in the heart of Croydon; great transport links mean we have girls coming from areas including Reigate, Beckenham, Sanderstead, Thornton Heath, Dulwich and Southwark.

Old Palace of John Whitgift is blessed with magnificent historical buildings, enthusiastic, highly motivated staff and a sound ethos of social awareness. For all who embrace the many opportunities presented, Old Palace will reward them with a happy, memorable and empowering education.
