Our Pre School children have been busy learning about the Natural World. This week’s focus was on growing plants. There was a variety of activities to choose from including making cress heads, measuring the maths table beanstalk and counting its leaves, playing a bean race game with a dice, planting geraniums and drawing their flowers.
The highlight of the week was the Jack and the Beanstalk topic book. All the children took part in creating the props including painting the cow and using a balloon to make the golden egg.
They took advantage of the beautiful spring weather to stage a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk on our outside stage in front of our celebrity guest, Mrs Burton.
At the end of the day the children took home a magic bean to grow their own beanstalk.
