Students Celebrate A Level Success

Congratulations to all the Old Palace students who received their A Level results today.

20% of students attained the impressive achievement of straight A*/A grades and almost a quarter (24%) of students achieved at least one A*, which is a remarkable accomplishment. Almost half (49%) of students secured A* and A grades, demonstrating the high academic standards across the school.

A notable 14% of all grades were at the very highest level of A* and a significant 37% of grades were in the A*-A range. Every student was provided with the opportunity to perform at their very best; 82% of grades were A*-C.

Mrs Burton said: “The grades reflect the hard work, resilience and commitment that the year group has shown throughout the challenges of the past few years. We are incredibly proud that so many of these students have secured their chosen courses at top universities across the country. Well done Old Palace”.

Congratulations to Sophia, who will be reading English and French at Oxford; Joint Head Girls, Suraiya and Alison, who are off to Warwick (Maths) and UCL (Geography) and to Rebecca, Alishba and Lilia who have secured highly sought-after places to study Medicine at Queen Mary, St George’s and King’s College London.

While some of our students are staying closer to home with places at UCL and Imperial College, London, others are going further afield to the dreaming spires of Durham and Edinburgh.  Prestigious subjects include Natural Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biochemistry and Computer Science.

Other students are following traditional routes such as Law, English, Music and Geography, but there are also students who have decided to pursue subjects which seem immediately pertinent to the issues facing our modern world, such as Global Sustainable Development and Population Health Sciences. Finally, congratulations to Fizza, who has secured a highly competitive, one year internship with IBM.

We wish all our students the very best for the future.
