Sumaiya Chairs Croydon’s Youth Parliament

Last Friday, a group of Year 8 budding activists attended the first Croydon Youth Assembly meeting of the year at Croydon Town Hall. Croydon’s Youth Parliament has been running for several years now, and it was fantastic to see students from across the Borough once again able to meet and discuss the issues facing the young people of Croydon.
The Youth Assembly Chair for this year is Old Palace’s very own Sumaiya, who chaired the initial council discussions and also laid out her plans for the year to tackle Mental First Aid for young people. We look forward to learning more about the project in the coming months.
